Federica’s photography and personal projects both focus on people. Her fascination with humans– particularly those who find self-expression difficult in a world full of societal (and in some cases, personal) taboos – is rooted in her own unique and challenging experience as an Italian immigrant in a foreign country. Federica is interested in getting as close as possible to her subjects’ life. She applies a narrative layer to the visual story telling, portraying the struggles of her subjects, as they push the boundaries of societal restraints. By layering these two skills and pushing her own boundaries, she is able to extract and expose truth when cameras and reporting are not always welcome.

Ciao Fede, come stai?
abbraccio
Mario

I loved your photos and the project “Daughters of the King”
Strangely, I have always wanted to do a similar project in the Hasidic community near my home.
I live in Chappaqua, New York and I realize there is a vibrant but reclusive Lubavitcher community in Mt. Kisco, New York. This is just a few miles away.
What ADVICE could you give me or suggestions to make a connection?
I would love the privilege to shoot candid shots of their lives to share with the community.
I am also a photographer and trying to grow to the next level.
All the best,
Leslie Fass
Hi, I just wanted to see how to get in touch with you. I wanted permission to use one of your images in my presentation.
Rural spirit, Hello. What is your full name so I can call you such? Thanks for the inquiry. What presentation and what photo? There will be a charge for it… let me know. It counts as a publication. Thanks for contacting me. best, Federica
