Today I ran into this photo from my good friend and photo mate, Pete Longworth *(or maybe I did not run into it, I repetitively asked for it since last year, and then yesterday he finally gave up and sent it to me, so that I would be quiet).
I just really needed to have this image if not only to have a visual memory of a great night together, but also as an even more wonderful reminiscing of our limitless wandering the globe to chase our dreams.
It was, in fact, after the Lucie Awards in 2012 that Pete and I made plans to make our dreams realities: I left for a trip around the globe to the Middle East and he traveled even further to go to to Australia, stumbling across California, Nevada, Greece, back to NYC than Florida and one more time back around to Aussie Land.
We have not yet met again, but we will one day, I know we will. In the mean time. I will have this photo to show both of us that when you have a red wall and a Kandinsky dress, you can make wandering the world happen that much more quickly, so long is the desire for one.
“Hopeless Wanderer”
Mumford & Sons
…So when your hope’s on fire
But you know your desire
Don’t hold a glass over the flame
Don’t let your heart grow cold
I will call you by name
I will share your road
But hold me fast, Hold me fast
‘Cause I’m a hopeless wanderer
And hold me fast, Hold me fast
‘Cause I’m a hopeless wanderer
I will learn, I will learn to love the skies I’m under
I will learn, I will learn to love the skies I’m under
The skies I’m under
