It’s official, I am running my first 1/2 marathon

I hope this decision is not just the result of a post runner’s high thought even if I did just come back from a long run along the Potomac in Georgetown.

But I think not.

If it’s not for the maturity that I might gain from the experience, at least it’s a good idea my best friend would be there running with me and she has already done her first 1/2 marathon in January.

Anyhow, I guess I just could not think of a better way to spend my 26th birthday than running my lungs off in sunny Seattle with temperature in the mid 60 and no rain.

I also think I owe this somewhat impulsive decision to ChiRunning and to how good it feels to run pain-free for a change (read the post below if you care to know more about ChiRunning).

Whatever the reason, I am officially two days into the training, three and 1/2 months away from this epic event and circa $100 poorer after paying the registration fee (and that’s a lot of money when you are jobless).

I will still be teaching Yoga and I will still be climbing as usual, but for the next few months “running for breakfast, lunch and dinner” will be the new mantra.

I will stay tuned with more from the “soar muscles” front.
